BoA Kwon Trivia Quiz
Apparently BoA Kwon is a big deal in Asia. A hot shot, young pop star, who at age 20, has a slew of albums and record sales under her belt. Who knew? Not me.
Anyways, like any good site that caters to the demo that would be most likely to care about such a girl, we made a nice little Quibblo quiz, to test your BoA Kwon knowledge. You can find the BoA Kwon Quiz here.
Supposedly, this girl is making the move to the US shortly, so keep your eyes and ears open. And if and when she becomes a big deal over here, you can credit me with keeping you informed of useless crap like this…before anyone else.
America’s Next Top Model 9 – Winners
It’s been a while, and I have slacked on my picks for some of the more recent seasons of America’s Next Top Model. But I figured in keeping with the superficial female beauty contest theme of late, that I may as well bring it back. After picking poorly last time out, I need to redeem myself with America’s Next Top Model Season 9. (here are some picks from previous seasons)
Overall, this group looks like just a bunch of pretty girls, which is different than a bunch of models. I am guessing that casting (after nine seasons), is now really more concerned with on set drama than with actually picking a legit model here…so let’s work with what we’ve got.
Here are my picks, and I am only going with two this time around, since the field is pretty weak.
- Jenah – This (to me) is what a model looks like. Pasty, waif-ish, vapid, and empty looking, but with basic pretty features. She is pretty, but in a blank canvas sort of way, so she can easily be transformed into all sorts of other looks, but still maintain that pretty look. I am thinking Jenah (despite the stupid spelling of her name), will take this year’s prize.
- Saleisha – This is just a good looking girl. Nice symmetrical features, plain-ish and naturally pretty look, and look at the photo….she knows how to stand like a model, which from what I have seen, takes some of these girls a lot of time to figure out how to do.

2007 MTV VMA’s, A Post-Mortem
Since catching the MTV VMA’s this week, I have had a lot of thoughts and feelings on MTV and the state of pop culture and the media landscape. Unable to properly formulate these thoughts and feelings into a coherent and meaningful post on my own, I sent an unsolicited email to Noah Brier and just got a little email dialog going on on the subject.
I knew Noah would have some interesting thoughts on the matter as well, and I was right. Some of the exchange is posted over on his site if you are inclined to read what two aging (in internet and pop culture terms) new media nerds think about the whole thing.
