Shazam! New Music!
I love Shazam. Maybe the coolest app in the mobile world (my opinion). I use it all the time when watching tv, or listening to the radio, or when at a bar, to identify music I like, and store it for purchase later. I end up going through my “Shazam-ed” music about once a month and downloading all of the tracks I’ve tagged. It’s always a totally random mix of music, but that’s why I love it. Here is what I just pulled off my most recent check and download operation.
- Walls (Shout Out Louds) – I found the Shout Out Louds a few albums ago, and still like almost everything they make.
- Pa’ Bailar (Bajofondo Con Ryota Komatsu) – This is in a commercial right now, but super catchy.
- Police On My Back (The Clash) – The Clash are still one of my all time favorite bands.
- Young Folks (Peter Bjorn and John, Feat. Victoria Bergsman) Heard this on the jukebox at a bar recently and had to grab it.
- Let’s Twist Again (Chubby Checker) – Great late 50’s/early 60’s song.
- Apeman (The Kinks) – Destroyer is on my iPod workout mix. I love the Kinks.
- Right As Rain (Adele) – I am always looking for good cocktail party, background music.
- Go Go Go (Roy Orbison) – Roy Orbison is totally underrated. Watch Black and White Night on PBS. It is amazing.
- Rock The Bells (LL Cool J) – This is from my favorite period of rap/hip-hop.
- Botch-a-Me (Rosemary Clooney) – Heard this during the credits of Mad Men and loved it.
Some of these songs I knew, and some I didn’t, but all of them are fun additions to my collection. Moral of the story is use Shazam to store music for download later. It’s cool.
