		<description>I can see how one might be wary of it. I can also see the potential awesomeness of it too. You can set your checkin as &quot;off the grid&quot; though, where you want to get credit for the checkin, but not divulge location. 

From a business perspective, it is a very not-defensible model, that is for sure. Yelp, or Google could add this feature (checkins) and immediately start to devour the foursquare business pretty easily (http://www.techcrunch.com/2010/01/15/yelp-iphone-app-4-check-ins/)</description>
