MySpace Acquires Photobucket

Here and here. Rumored as being in the $300mm neighborhood.

Am I missing something here? If you are MySpace, why buy a basic photo hosting and sharing site, that gets all of its traffic from…er…MySpace. Why not just continue to bully them into oblivion, and tweak out your own photo tools? Doesn’t seem to make a ton of sense to me on the surface, but who knows. We’ll see when the details come out.

Blackberry Curve (aka Blackberry 8300)

Like I am NOT going to get this? I skipped the 8800 because I wanted a new Blackberry with a camera and modem, and then RIM goes and says POW! Blackberry Curve.

Quibblo Blog

A new web company is nothing without a blog, right? Right.

Wicked Awesome Links

  • Adopt a flying squirrel. No joke here, literally…adopt a flying squirrel.
  • Pave Route 9. Saw this on a flashing highway sign on my commute this morning. I dig this idea a bit, since there have been many times over the years when I would wonder WTF various construction crews were doing, aside from messing up my commute. There is also something funny about the “under construction” text all over a site dedicated to providing information on a construction project. Like real world, like web I suppose.
  • Booth babes. A staple of online-ad trade shows, and of probably a lot of other trade shows for various industries. Some solid entries from last week’s ADTech show. The CPX girls were literally stopping traffic in the aisles at the show, so they have to win this.
  • A random map of a magical world representing social networks? Well, why the hell not? You got it!
  • Backups. Backups.
  • Here is a blog post about absolutely nothing whatsoever.
