If so, I am curious to know a bit more about your rental situation. I for one, rent now and have for years…probably will for a bit longer as well. I live in the cit-ay, and given the price of owning real estate around here, renting just seems to be in the cards for me…at least for a while longer.
ANYWAYS, I just signed a new lease to move basically across the street and ONTO Comm Ave here in Boston, and although not as bad as it could have been, the cost of moving into an apartment here is just depressing. Broker fees, first and last, security deposits, key deposits, parking space rental, and on and on.
So, just because I am nosy, I want to know where you live, what you pay, what you get, and who you get it with. And yes, you guessed it…I made a survey.
Want to take it? Here it is.
For the record, with a shade under 50 responses so far, the average renter…
Has lived in their rental for less than one year
Lives with roommates
Has a month-to-month lease
Pays between $1000 and $1250 per month
For a two bedroom
In a multi-family home
In a city/metro area
With heat and hot water included
And they have included off-street parking.
