I live in Australia and called overseas to have one shipped to my younger brother in Arizona. Not only did I manage to get a Wii for him in time for xmas but I also had free shipping. I told them it was new out of the box and that it wouldn't read his discs and also added that it sounded like it was rubbing too. They just emailed me a return label and said I would get it back repaired within about 10 days of them receiving it. I almost asked about the replacement program but chickened out thinking maybe too many people have tried this and they caught on. Or maybe they are out. Oh and they do ask for a serial number. I found out after they sent me my replacement. I got an apology from a Nintendo rep and was told I should have been told. I didn't believe him.
