I was informed by a co-worker today, that America’s Next Top Model will be starting back up again soon. She was anxious to tell me not because we share a love for the show, but she was looking forward to me finally being wrong so that she could gloat. Somehow, over the past three seasons, I have picked the winners with surprising accuracy simply by looking over the contestant list before the season even begins. In addition, I have never really watched the show at all, save for a few stray minutes while flipping channels on odd nights here and there.
So, let’s get on with the picks for the new season. My first reaction was that this year’s pool is weak. Real weak. Not only do some of these girls look like they are unqualified for America’s Next Top Model, some look like they are unqualified for the wet t-shirt contest at Senor Frogs during Spring Break. Maybe they got some of the cast offs from Extreme Makeover or something. Yikes.
There are however, a couple of gals that rise to the top quickly…and given the competition, this is not anything for them to be overly proud of. It’s like Corey Dillion rushing for 300 yards in a Pop Warner game…unimpressive. So here are my picks. I am going, as usual, with a top 3.
1) Mollie Sue - Each season, there is one girl that stands out, one girl that looks like she is already a model. This season it is one Mollie Sue. Blue blue eyes, fiery red hair (which I will take side bets on that she will get some sort of black dye job mo-hawk by the third show), and that model look. She also has what I call “model face”. That sunken cheekbone, upside-down triangle head that sort of looks like those Roswell alien sketches.
2) Nnenna - First off, her name is over 60% “N’s” which is a feat in and of itself. This unique name also makes for a good no-last-name model persona. Instead of Nnenna Smith, she can be known simply as Nnenna. This is career changing stuff in the model world. She is also a dark skinned African American woman who lists “Good Will Hunting” as her favorite movie. This proves that she is probably a little insane, which as I have said before, is required of any successful model. Lastly, she has that “I’m better than you” look down pat. This is also crucial to being a model.
3) Joanie - I don’t know that Joanie will win, but ya need one dark horse, and she is mine. To be honest, if you swapped her and Kathy for one another mid season, I am doubtful that anyone would even notice. I think they could be sisters, but Joanie has more “model face” and that is the main difference. She also looks vaguely like Celine Dionne, and I don’t really know what to make of that.
So those are my picks. I feel pretty strongly about the first two, but Joanie not so much. I am going to Vegas in 2 weeks, and I am not kidding when I say that I will place money on this if I can do so.

Actually Petard, I hedged my bets and chose the tomboy with the disclaimer that if past history was not overlooked, Nicole would win. She did. And for the record, tomboy was in the final 4, so I did very very well.
And added the word “over” to the post. It was sup. read “over 60%”

anywho i just finished watching one of the episodes..um?!?the one were msz.nnenna frenchd the hotty!!shout outs to the other guys to!! haha jane loved it when you kissed the cocaracha!!!lol no offense but it was funny when gina started to freak..haha lol…yah so far watching the episodes have been awesome. danielle is my fav though..my friends say cus we have the same name but…that’s not it..ok maybe it is but whatever..this show is HOTT!!!

You are forgetting something…Nnenna can’t walk the runway to save her life, plus she is a little old for the modeling industry. Danielle can walk, takes beautiful pictures, has personality. But that accent is THICK…what will set Danielle apart is her sheer determination….

i agree w/ arabian princess; i think joanie or danielle will win….at first, i really liked nnenna, but then as her true personality came out i liked her less & less…..i absolutely hated jade at the beginning, i still do now, but not so much…ive loved danielle ever since she was first introduced & i never minded joanie; i think theyd both make very excellent top models

Well, I too think it will be between Danielle and Joanie. I watched the most recent episode last night, what was up with the copy cat? Anyway, they need to get rid of Jade already, i think they are prepping for getting rid of her, if you notice when it is time for a girl to leave Jay M is kinda mean to her during her shoot. Also, do they really want a spokesperson representing CoverGirl that talks like that Damon Wayans character from In Living Color that was in prison and murdered the english language. Maybe Jade should masticate her implications of perfectionistism and decimate her ability to be the Next Top Model of an opening of the Webster’s Dictionary. By the way, who knew that elephants were from the dinosaur family and how preposterous were they?

Well, well, well, we’ve reached the end of cycle 6 and it has been quite an exciting journey. The last three standing … Joanie, Danielle and she-devil(psych) Jade. Who will be ANTM? I wish there could be two this cycle. That would be Joanie and Danielle. But please get rid of Jade already. I’m embarrased to admit that Jade is from my hometown of Philadelphia. There are nice people from Philly hence the “City of Brotherly Love”. I grew up there and there are also Jade-type people there too. If Jade does win, maybe her 15 minutes will fizzle and she will be forgotten. The girl does have “great face” and she and the other girls have such professional and extensive portfolios, they are already set to model professionally. But watch out Naomi Campbell. Jade is coming to kick your butt! Two of a kind.

Well i ever had an eye out for picking the winners, which include yoanna, eva (my favourite), niema who nt a big fan of, nicole even though i thought nik should have won and danielle because i liked her personality and her alluring eyes. I guess she really and trully grow on me! Mind you i really liked joanie too. Well thats my 2cents to this website……….. Cnt wait for cycle 7

i really love joannie…it was so sad that she didn’t won the competition..but it’s still okay..because at least, danielle won..not nenna.. i hated her so much..she’s a bitch..at first..i thought she was nice..but then..i realize that she’s not..she doesn’t care about other people..id rather choose furonda than her..

I just randomly stumbled upon this looking at alien photos. Top Model is my favourite show and out of the 10 seasons already, 6 was DEFINITELY the best. I must say, it’s really weird that none of these 3 won. I thought this dude hit the mark 100%. When I first watched it I was SURE Mollie-Sue would win, with Nnenna 2nd. Joannie became my fave once Mollie-Sue got kicked off (rubbish vote by the way.) I thought the dark horse was Jade. Sure a bitch, but so was Eva and she won! Anyway, how funny that like 3 years on and I still think this guy is right and they got it wrong.
