Punky Style

A plug for a friend…PunkyStyle.com is live. I promised Amy I would set her up with a site where she could document her nasty fashion addiction almost a year ago, and we both kept getting distracted. She finally pushed me to do it, by trying to set up a blogger site on my own, knowing I would be guilt-ed into finally putting it together like I had promised.

PunkyStyle

ANYWAYS…it’s live. She has a great sense of style, and the basic site is up. More to come soon, including a section to buy clothes from Amy…stay tuned.

Free Magazine Subscriptions

If anyone knows anything about the bulk magazine subscription industry, or about the magazine subscription and fulfillment industry in general, please contact me.

I know that overall, magazines make money from advertising, not from subscriptions. That being said, there are ways to get subscriptions for free here and there when certain mags want to boost their circulation. I also know, that it is possible to get cut rate subscriptions if you were to get them in bulk.

Again, if you know anything about this, or companies that may deal in this area, let me know. Sorry this is so vague, just doing some research on something, and figured I would toss this out there…

Tom Brady Is Better Than You

Man, the Super Bowl sure is boring when the Patriots aren’t in it. I guess we are getting a bit spoiled around here when it comes to football. I don’t recall the last time I cared less about the Super Bowl. I am guessing it was 2001. I mean, there was 2003, but that was kind of like a break, so it was ok.

ANYWAYS…needless to say, my favorite moment of last night’s game by far, was the coin toss featuring one Mr. Tom Brady. I mean, just this appearance in and of itself was awesome on so many levels. For one, he is a currently active player

Tom Brady Is The Coolest

Apparently I am not the only one who thought about what might be going on inside Tom’s head. Taylor Blunt’s has a great write up here. Worth checking out for sure.

In case the significance of Brady handling the coin toss is lost on you still, here are some of the other past Super Bowl coin tossers. You will notice that none of them had been in uniform, playing against the guys on the field, only 4 weeks earlier as Tom had. Mostly hall of famers on this list, and even an ex President.

Mike Singletary
Larry Csonka
Marcus Allen
Former President George Bush
Roger Staubach
Tom Landry
Terry Bradshaw
Lamar Hunt
Joe Namath

I know I am being totally gay for Tom Brady right now, but come on…this was classic. The level that he is at compared to these guys is…well, it is summed up here.

Step 1: Leave On The Next Train

While reading some of the T&G items posted by Buck over on Volcanoboy regarding the cultural community in Worcester, I came across something that I found sort of funny. Within the third of three T&G articles, there is this:

To start to remedy that situation, Mrs. Bassett has been involved in putting together a Web site to introduce Clark students to the city through an online slide show, www.clarku.edu/interested/. She and faculty members also have developed New England Culture 101, which showcases events in Worcester and nearby though the school’s main Web site, www.clarku.edu/. Additionally, Erin Williams, the city’s cultural development officer, and Mrs. Bassett are organizing a group of students to act as liaisons to the city’s cultural organizations.

Now the funny thing is, that when you hit up the slide show on the Clark website, that is designed to promote Worcester in all of it’s glory, this is the first slide.

LEAVE NOW!

In case you can’t see it too well in the screen shot above, the text caption says:

“Take a train from the newly renovated Union Station to Boston.”

Nice. In the slide show promoting the city of Worcester, the very first slide suggests you get on the next train and go to Boston.
