While doing a lot of “networking” (read free booze drinking and Google ice cube throwing) on a recent Google sponsored BIMA cruise in Boston harbor, I was able to talk to one of the 4,890,346 people on board who were in the paid search business. Since we do very little with paid search, I didn’t really care about her pitch or her products, but I did have one question for her. I asked…
ME: “What is THE most expensive keyword right now? What are people bidding up, that just floors you?”
Her (without hesitation): “New York Bankruptcy Lawyer”
I have to admit, when she told me what some of the high side CPC’s were on this phrase, I was pretty stunned. Stunned enough to write this otherwise meaningless post, in hopes that the phrase “New York Bankruptcy Lawyer” shows in my Google Adsense strip, and that every time someone clicks on the keywords for “New York Bankruptcy Lawyer” that I get to reap the benefits of these high priced “New York Bankruptcy Lawyer” clicks.

More search engine whoring! I love it. Thank god I am not from New York and I don’t need a Bankruptcy Lawyer. But more importantly thank god I am not paying for those clicks

She’s wrong, by the way. There are far more expensive keywords out there right now.

Well this was interesting, I never would have thought those keywords to be the hottest ones out there. Go figure!
I wonder what Dossy knows….that the person you asked didn’t.
Nice Blog

Those are expensive keywords.
But if you really want to make money, list Mesethelioma for $50 a pop.
