Blogging In Your Neighborhood

Figured it would be worth a post, to do a little round up of who is talking about what. I read a lot of other people’s stuff, and although most of these guys and gals are listed in my links, here is a more robust representation of who they are and what they have to say.

Pete Caputa – Pete and I went through some hell together last week when a host, who we both used, decided to hit the bricks and leave us all high and dry. He and I scraped together, time, sanity, resources, and $750 to right the ship. He offers a more formalized name to something I had previously called “flaming someone”, and weighs the option of doing so, versus being a bigger person and moving on.

Two people have screwed me over this week. Wasted my money. Other people’s money. My time and other people’s time. And they both have soiled my reputation. I am giving them until next week to attempt to right their wrongs. After that, I will be creating posts on my weblog with their names and business names in the title. And these posts will be at the top of the search engines for searches for their names. Thus, their mistakes will be known by anyone doing a simple search for them.

I, unlike Pete, am not above this. Once I know that all ties to this problem are severed, I will do my small part to flame this guy. On the net, sometimes two wrongs do make a right. What can I say? I’m petty like that sometimes.

John Lee – Lee’s blog is looking tight, thanks to a sweet new layout by Eric and Blogudio. Something about a nicely skinned blog just makes you want to read it….don’t it? Lee reminisces about a little office prankery we have been going through lately.

Switching the ‘n’ and ‘m’ keys is also a nice trick, for the non-touch typists. Another of my co-workers re-arranged someone’s keyboard to spell ‘Bermuda’ — this had to be pointed out to him a few hours later, unfortunately.

Trust me, we work real hard, despite what his post would make you think. Pranking each other is a good way to stay sane and to have some fun at the office, and the tricks range from the ultra creative, to the ultra crude…and everything in between. Good times.

Duncan Arsenault - Duncan posted a song on his blog that was a previously unreleased, semi-impromptu track called “Last Night” which is totally worth a listen.

The song started with a interesting sounding water jug that I had in the room and we built on that. I shared this back when we did it but I was reminded of it so I thought I would post it up here.

Amazing. I wish I had the musical talent to just crank out a quality track like that when sitting around with friends. These guys are truly talented…check the track here.

Save Hip Hop - BOBO at SaveHipHop.org continues to rock what I would consider the most underrated locally (to Central Mass) produced site on the web. Always up on the latest local and national hip hop news, this guy is the epitome of doing something for the love of it. Check out one of his pod casts (which are killer) and moblog some items to the SHH moblog. Hott stuff.

World Unfurled – C’mon JAL…hit the road already. Not that I want you to leave, but I am really looking forward to living vicariously through you and your site! I know Jonathan well, and I know he is going to be someone that really commits to keeping this site updated as he travels the world…at least to the best of his abilities and as long as there is an Internet connection nearby.

RadioBall
- Buck went and made a person, and his blog stalled out like my first car. At least he hooked me up with a new phone in a desperate time of need last week. So he is ok in my book…blog updates or not.

MoreDiapers – Speaking of making people, Eric somehow manages to update the running account of fatherhood between freelance designing, part time designing for my company, and being a dad. Amazing stuff, and a great blog for you new daddies.

Well, that’s it from the local blog front for now. Enjoy.
