It doesn’t get much better than this. I have been waiting for The Shins to come to the east coast for some time now, and I was pumped when I saw a Providence date on their upcoming tour schedule. Now, as I just purchased my tickets, I see that they are playing with another favorite of mine, Talib Kweli…and the whole she-bang only costs $18.
So not so long ago I posted a bit on a friend’s site pointing out the suckiness of SillyRoger.com which is the personal site of Roger Eschbacher who you may know as Mr. Wendy’s from the short lived Wendy’s television ad campaign. I talked about how awful the site’s colors were, and how heinous the layout was, and how the site made my eyes bleed, etc etc etc. I believe I may have also added some insult to injury by titling the post “One More Reason To Hate Roger Eschbacher“.
As luck would have it, blogs tend to pick up search traffic and soon enough, the link to the post was on the second page of results when Googling “Roger Eschbacher“. Not surprisingly, Roger came across the site and the post, presumably via Google, and added a comment to the not so flattering evaluation of his site.
You can pop over there and check it out yourself, but I just wanted to point out that given the nature of the posting, he was very cool about the whole thing and responded in a modest and reasonable way. Score one for Roger for having a good sense of humor (which may be surprising if you have seen the Wendy’s ads) and score a big one for SitesThatSuck.org for saving another bad site from poor design.
