Victory For Sonics! Ok!

This one is a classic that I thought was lost when Predrag Drobnjak was traded away to the Hawks. As random luck would have it, I happened upon a live link to the campaign while checking out the website for “The Andy’s” which is an award given out by the New York Advertising Club.

Check out Drobnjak’s Manjaks here. The site, and commercials linked off of the site, were originally part of a campaign run by the Sonics back 2 or so years ago. The commercials and the tips for kids are winners. Hell, it’s all great. Enjoy.

Unintentional Comedy Scale – 10/10

I don’t really know how else I can introduce these clips other than by pointing out that they are a grand slam in world of unintentional comedy. Rosie O’Donnell playing a retarded woman in CBS’s upcoming TV movie Riding The Bus With My Sister is pure comic genius. Every time I see these clips on TV, I can’t stop laughing. I don’t know how Andie MacDowell kept a straight face while shooting these scenes. She should get an emmy just for that.

Make sure and pay special attention to Rosie doing some sort of calisthenics on the beach towards the end of the preview. She has striped tube socks pulled up to her knees and is doing some toe-touching exercise. Along with the retarded perm and the shorts that are straight out of a 1972 gym class, it really is a perfect moment. Enjoy.

Fever Pitch. Sucks.

I was going to write an entire post about the shortcomings of Fever Pitch, but then I came across the Bill Simmons article Down With A Bad ‘Fever’ and I changed my mind. There is no way I can articulate my thoughts on this movie any clearer than Bill has done already. He nails this one right on the head.

Here’s the plot for “Fever Pitch” in one sentence: Guy loves the Red Sox, meets Drew Barrymore, tries to love them both, nearly loses her because of the Sox, decides to give up his season tickets next to the Red Sox dugout because he loves her, she stops him just in time, and they get back together and end up making out on the field after the first Red Sox championship in 86 years. The end.

Inconsiderate Cell Phone Guy

If you have been to the movies lately, you no doubt have become familiar with the ad reels that run before the previews. Mixed in with the normal car and soft drink ads, are movie theater specific spots from Cingular that feature “inconsiderate cell phone guy” which is designed to not only plug Cingular, but also to get patrons to silence their cell phones.

The ads are actually pretty hilarious and I found a download here, via here. There are some others out there as well, so if anyone has the other versions, send them my way….
