Unbreakable Campaign From 3M

Fri, Feb 18, 2005

Uncategorized

Found on Room 116 via Adrants, this brilliant campaign from 3M (which stands for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing if you are interested) pushing their new security glass has people literally trying to break down their door. I guess if nothing else, this is advertising that shows ultimate faith in the product. I still can picture a handful of agency types nervously watching these boxes and hoping to god that no one cracks them.

This is truly thinking inside of the box. The unbreakable glass box.

Sorry. I’m done now.

  1. Scott Duffy Says:

This was a bit of a scam, since:
    a) it was mostly filled with “fake bills”, and only had a few hundred in real money
    b) and its being monitored by video surveillance in case anyone wants to take a jackhammer to it

But perception counts more than reality, so people will think 3M glass is super-safe even though not much is at risk here. If they put real money, and didn’t have a 24-hour security system in place, it would be way cooler.

But you have to admire the amount of Internet buzz they got.
