Bag, Borrow, or Steal

Mon, Jan 3, 2005

Bag, Borrow, or steal is certainly an interesting idea that may replace those awful (and illegal) purse parties. Think of it as netflix for hand bags. I am unsure what male product might fit the model for a guy-friendly equivalent. Maybe ties? I don’t know…either way, concept is fascinating to say the least….

I have seen another site that borrows bags called frombagstoriches.com. I am not a big bag person, but I wanted something for a wedding and didn’t want to have to pay a 3 months membership for just one bag for one occassion. I got the coolest new Louis Vuitton and looked like a million bucks!

For a single occasion, I agree that frombagstoriches is a good deal for a single occasion, but for us bag fetishists, bagborroworsteal is a much better deal. If you want to trade your bag in for a new one each month, the other company will cost you an arm and a leg.

    From a satified bag lover.

Actually, Bag, Borrow, or Steal is a giant pain to use. I have had pretty much nothing but bad experiences with them since I opened an account with a gift certificate back in December. In fact, the gift certificate would be used up by now, but they screw up so often they have to keep crediting my account money. I’d rather just have the bags, and the quality isn’t so good either. Their idea of “new or like new” is not even close. Some of my bags have been “good” at the most, with rips or marks or stains on them, and they don’t replace them for you unless you return the bag and wait for another one to come in. Plus, if you try to post a comment to this affect on their “community” aka “fake message boards” it somehow never gets approved. Their selection is large, however at any given time about 80% of their stock is checked out, so the bag(s) you want may not be available for months. I wouldn’t recommend this site to anyone or waste any more money on it.

Very ticked off at them. Customer service is hit or miss at best, and their hours of phone availability and “Live Help” suck.
